There is no audition for general membership in the University Band. If you are willing to commit to the band, the band will commit to you!
However, auditions are required for our advanced ensembles, jazz band, and Performing Arts Magnet. Please use the menus below to learn more.
The Wind Ensemble audition is modeled on an OCPS All County Audition and will consist of the following:
The audition rubric can be seen here: Audition Rubric
Auditions take place during class the week of April 15.
Incoming students can make an appointment to audition after school on April 15 or 16 by contacting a band director.
There are a limited number of seats in the Wind Ensemble. Once those are filled, students who auditioned will be placed into the Symphonic Band. No audition is required for the Concert Band.

Students auditioning for the Performing Arts Magnet must complete a standard Wind Ensemble/Percussion audition, as well as an additional solo or étude (about 1 minute) of the student's choice. Please bring an extra copy of the music for us to look at as you perform.
