The Near East, 300 BC

After the death of Alexander, the Macedonian Empire divided into three main parts, each under the leadership of one of Alexander's generals. Thrace and Asia Minor formed the Antigonid Kingdom; the former Persian Empire became the Seleucid Kingdom; and Egypt fell under the Ptolemaic Kingdom. Notice the growth of the Roman Republic.
